The hostel is located right in Caledonia, conveniently located at walking distance from many amenities. Caledonia is said to be "The Middle of Everywhere" for good reason, seeing its convenient location within an hour's drive from many great places.

Keji is widely considered to be a top spot for canoeing, kayaking, hiking, and wildlife viewing. You will aso find that Keji has been designated a National Historic Site for its ancient Mi'kMaw petroglyphs inside the Park.

The perfect place to spot wildlife and discover the inland beauty of Nova Scotia.

NOTICE: Starting June we will offer regular shuttle service between Mahone Bay and Caledonia, and Digby and Caledonia - contact us for more information, updates will follow.

Top 3 of things to do:

  1. Go for a hike or canoe trip in Keji National Park. Keji is a place of quiet waters and few roads, its beauties are subtle. Take the time and enjoy some of the beautiful hikes, go for a paddle on the Mersey River, take a picnic on one of Keji’s many small islands, or enjoy a swim at some of the quiet beaches and you will to come to understand the natural beauty and tranquillity of this place. Keji will make you rethink time and schedules. Canoes and kayaks are conveniently for rent at Jake’s Landing, right in Keji.
  2. Visit the McGowan fish hatchery and discover the lifespan of speckled trout. About 1 million (!) fish are raised yearly at this site. This hatchery has helped to ensure the future of trout fishing in Western Nova Scotia and gives a wide variety of information about the hatchery and other aspects of recreational fishing.
  3. Enjoy Queens County Fair, a five-day agricultural exhibition - one of the oldest in Canada - 125 years and growing! (September). The Fair grounds are used for many other events during the year, like a Saturday Farmers Market, winter carnival, ox-pull, weekend jamboree, and much more. Visit the Queens County Fair website for further details.
