Port Mouton International Hostel Print E-mail

The Port Mouton Hostel is located near several great Provincial and National Parks in the area, all making for some great hiking or bicycling, with great opportunities to see wildlife, and enjoying the amazing scenery and tranquil sights that Nova Scotia has to offer. The hostel is located within the old school, giving you the great opportunity to sleep in class (without being woken up!). The Port Mouton Hostel can accommodate groups of up to 30 people and even has a studio and meeting room available for its guests, making it a great affordable alternative for meetings or group trips. Great for family reunions, bird watchers, photographers, cyclists, and anybody looking for an affordable and tranquil meeting place without breaking the bank.

Top 3 of things to do:

  1. Keji Seaside Adjunct National Park is a 22 square km area of unspoiled spectacular Atlantic coastline. The hike to the coast is well worth the effort, as harbour and grey seals can often be seen basking on the rocks The large white-sand beaches are a popular haven for migrating shorebirds and home to many seabirds. Geologists can also find extraordinary rock formations to uncover here.
  2. Thomas Raddall Provincial Park covers 1,675 acres and has an interesting range of habitats. The wooded areas are home to many songbirds, osprey, eagles, deer, snowshoe hare and coyotes while the lakes and streams find mink, otter and beaver. Moos e and black bear frequent the bogs and fens and shorebirds abound on the secluded white-sand beaches. The Port L’Hebert Pocket Wilderness is a 150 acre wooded park with picnic areas and walking trails that take you to the ocean at Port L’Hebert Bay.
  3. There are many outdoor activities to be had in this area, like fresh water fishing, surfing the Atlantic (yes, this is actually one of the best surfing spots in Nova Scotia!), diving (discover the many shipwrecks), bicycling, hiking, or swimming.
